1 Samuel 1:1–20 (NEG79)

1 Il y avait un homme de Ramathaïm-Tsophim, de la montagne d'Ephraïm, nommé Elkana, fils de Jeroham, fils d'Elihu, fils de Thohu, fils de Tsuph, Ephratien.

Psalm 106

In preparation for your sermon and before reading from the Bible, it might be a good idea to sing a Psalm which narrates something of the history of Israel. The concluding section of Psalm 106 (Psalm 106:34–46) recounts the time of the judges and Israel’s behaviour in the land.

Psalm 119

In response to your sermon, it would be good to sing a Psalm that encourages us to trust the Lord even in times of affliction. Psalm 119:65–72 testifies that affliction is for our good because it can help us to grow in our trust in the Lord.
