Psalm 106
In preparation for your sermon and before reading from the Bible, it might be a good idea to sing a Psalm which narrates something of the history of Israel. The concluding section of Psalm 106 (Psalm 106:34–46) recounts the time of the judges and Israel’s behaviour in the land.
Psalm 119
In response to your sermon, it would be good to sing a Psalm that encourages us to trust the Lord even in times of affliction. Psalm 119:65–72 testifies that affliction is for our good because it can help us to grow in our trust in the Lord.
