These distinctive garments did more than just cover the nakedness of the priests. Rather, these clothes gave the priest both dignity and honour. They were visible reminders of the glory and honour of the Lord. These clothes impressed upon the people that the high priest was God's representative and was ready to function in any of the priestly capacities.
