This encounter or find ends in destruction. At the Lord’s appearance enemies will burn like fire in an oven. The Lord will devour them in his wrath. Whoever threatens the king of the Lord—and thus hates the Lord himself—will perish. Fire will consume him. It will be his total downfall.
We recognize this struggle in the messianic Psalm 110:5–6 The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth.
