  2. Explication du texte

What is God’s reaction to Moses’ question asking to send someone else?

Exode 4:14 (NEG79)

We read about God that he is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty (Exodus 34:6–7). God becomes angry with Moses. However, he also shows his patience. In the Bible, people often contradict God. Dictators tolerate no contradiction, but God cares for his people. God gives plenty room for discussion but does not accept disobedience. Moses has to obey in willingness. On the other hand, God meets Moses’ objection. He sends Aaron, Moses’ brother with him. This is the first time Aaron is mentioned.
