The apostles see the events which have taken place in Jerusalem as a fulfillment of what God had announced in the past through Psalm 2:1–12.1 God had predetermined the death of Jesus, and the church finds comfort in this fact. Nothing happens outside of his control or plan.2 This reality gives courage to the church to know that God will carry out his purposes no matter what.3
