1. Joël 3:16–17 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

What is significant about God roaring from Zion and uttering his voice from Jerusalem?

God proclaims his earth-shattering judgments from Zion and Jerusalem. He is on their side again. At one time he cried out against his people (Joel 2:11), but now against the nations, the enemies. The place names also indicate the New Testament church (Galatians 4:26). In the final judgment, it is abundantly clear that this people, those who believe in Christ, have rightly trusted God. The whole universe will see that God has chosen for them and has vindicated them. That is the scope of God’s day (see also Joel 1:15, Joel 1:20; Joel 2:1–2, Joel 2:10–11, Joel 2:31–32).
