The nations rally in battle order (Psalm 2:1–12; Revelation 19:19; Revelation 20:7–9A). They are so foolish that they take on God! But ultimately they end up facing not armed legions, but a court behind which is only one person: the triune God. He passes his scathing judgment. It is so terrible that the lights of heaven cannot stand to watch it (cf. Joel 2:10), so they turn off their lights.
