The place of Acts 8 in the book of Acts

Actes 8:1–40 (NEG79)

1 Saul avait approuvé le meurtre d'Etienne. Il y eut, ce jour-là, une grande persécution contre l'Eglise de Jérusalem; et tous, excepté les apôtres, se dispersèrent dans les contrées de la Judée et de la Samarie.

The gospel of the kingdom crosses the border into neighbouring Samaria, as was announced in the last instructions of Jesus to be witnesses: you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8). This command is like directions for the work of mission, as Luke follows it in the structure of his book, which ends in Rome. A couple of months after the Feast of Pentecost (Acts 2:1–47), evangelist Philip goes to Samaria. In Acts 8:1–40 we follow Philip on his missionary journey to Samaria (Acts 8:1–25), and to a eunuch from Ethiopia (Acts 8:26–40) - the ends of the earth.
