The themes of this chapter must not be cast into the future as if the mystery clarified here pertains to a thin slice of time just before Christ returns. The devilish alliance described in this chapter plus the Lamb’s victory over them are recurring themes in church history generation after generation. So each generation anew may be confident that no one can ever snatch the Lord’s own from God’s hand.
