Jesus does not answer the faith of the four friends and the paralytic in the way we would expect. He does not say, You are healed,
but Your sins are forgiven.
A surprising answer! Apparently, forgiveness outweighs healing for Jesus. Clearly, man’s greatest problem is not his illness, but his sin! And thus, it is forgiveness that ultimately heals. Grace heals your life. He deliberately calls the man, son,
because that is how he accepts him in his relationship with God as Father.
