With this Jesus indicates how he considers his coming and staying on this earth. It is a wedding feast where he himself is the bridegroom. Now that Jesus has appeared on earth, the real celebration can begin! God is going to make everything right through him. Therefore, do not fast now, but celebrate! Jesus does not disapprove of fasting, but only indicates that now is not the time to fast.
