What do we know about Jewish exorcists from antiquity?

Acts 19:13 (ESV)

13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.”

Jewish exorcists were highly regarded in antiquity because they were believed to have very effective spells. Further, those connected to the Jewish priesthood could best exploit the use of the divine name that became shunned and shrouded in mystery, as they could be able to pronounce it.1
