What might these Jews’ usage of Jesus’ name point toward?

Acts 19:13 (ESV)

13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.”

The use of Jesus' name by these young men may point to the syncretism that was rife in Ephesian magic practices.1 In these syncretistic magical practices, the magicians would borrow terms from any other religion that sounded strange enough to be deemed useful.2
