A connection to the work of Christ can be established when it comes to the reasons for our pursuit of holiness (we belong to Christ having been bought by him) as well as the reasons for looking forward to his return (not judgment but salvation). When the day of the Lord comes, it is the day when we will see our Saviour in all his glory, a day that we as Christians can look forward to without fear because our Lord has already paid the penalty that our sins deserve.
