1. Mark 16:6 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why does the young man refer to the Lord as "Jesus of Nazareth"?

Mark 16:6 (ESV)

6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.

Jesus was known as Jesus of Nazareth (Mark 1:9) in order to distinguish him from all the other Jewish men who also had the name Jesus at the time.
