Who was the young man dressed in white?

Mark 16:5 (ESV)

5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed.

Although it is not explicitly mentioned, the clothing and knowledge of the young man suggests that he was an angel. The Gospel of Matthew confirms this (Matthew 28:2–5).
