When the crowd noticed that all those who had come to Jesus to be healed were actually being healed, every one of those present tried to touch him. For power went out from him and as a result everyone—even those who had minor complaints and had not come specifically for healing, but more to listen—were healed. Also those who had more serious complaints, but had come out of skepticism, not for a cure but out of curiosity, were healed.
Thus this verse shows the abundance of God’s kingdom. However, to be a citizen of this kingdom requires more than receiving; citizens of this kingdom are characterized by what is discussed in the next few verses.
19 And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.
