A third reason why Daniel bless God:
The Lord is the God who truly sees and knows everything. No matter how dark everything is, and even if someone thinks he can keep something all to himself. The Lord knows it and works with it. He sees through and knows everything.
We see this very clearly in the life of Daniel. The Lord knows and sees that at certain times Daniel’s enemies are plotting dark schemes. This is the case when they ask King Darius, in Daniel 6:1–28, to give the command that everyone should pray only to Darius and to no other gods for a period of 30 days. The consequence of this is that Daniel ends up in the lion’s den. The Lord knows exactly what Daniel’s enemies are up to, and he uses it to save Daniel giving him even greater prestige as a result.
The Lord is light and his light, his glory, is so great that man cannot behold God. That is why his plan remains hidden until he reveals it. God’s wisdom is so great, that what he has in store is more than we can imagine. Without God’s revelation and explanation it is unfathomable and hidden from humans. An example of this is God’s plan of redemption through Christ. Formerly it remained a mystery that the Redeemer had to be both God and man to save God’s chosen ones. We would never have come up with this idea on our own. It is the Lord who reveals this, who brings to light what is hidden. Paul writes about this in 1 Corinthians 2:9–10, What no eye has seen and no ear has heard and no heart has imagined, that is what God has prepared for those who love him. To us, however, God has revealed it by his Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

22 he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
