1. 1 Kings 3:28 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why did Israel stand in awe of the king?

1 Kings 3:28 (ESV)

28 And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.

Solomon’s judgment of the prostitutes made it clear that justice would be done. There was reason for the criminals in the country to be afraid. There was reason for the oppressed people to rejoice.
