The king examines those who have been trained in Babylonian arts and science and at this point it becomes apparent that Daniel and his friends stand out far above the others; they are exceptional, so they are accepted and enter into the king’s service. It is the Lord who sees to it that after their training, these four will enter the service of the king, where they will occupy high positions in the administration of the country. This is how the Lord God provides for the preservation of his people, of his church.
19 And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king.
