Gideon’s death in a good old age
puts him in the company of only two others who had that privilege in the Old Testament: Abraham and David (Genesis 15:15; Genesis 25:8; 1 Chronicles 29:28). “This is a gracious assessment of Gideon’s good deeds and his faith in Yahweh, depicted at least in the initial stages of his Midianite campaign."1
32 And Gideon the son of Joash died in a good old age and was buried in the tomb of Joash his father, at Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
