1. Psalm 142:3 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the solution for David’s fainting spirit?

Psalm 142:3 (ESV)

3 When my spirit faints within me, you know my way! In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.

The solution is not to let his emotion have the last word, but his faith. Faith speaks and says, “you know my way” (Psalm 142:3). He does not say that he will cling to God. He has no power to do that. The comfort is that the One who has power will know his situation.
