Commentary on 1 Corinthians 2:9 (Summary)

1 Corinthians 2:9 (ESV)

9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

Paul is still speaking of God’s wisdom, which is different from (and far above) human wisdom. He describes God’s wisdom with four parallel phrases, which are loosely taken from Isaiah 64:4 (and perhaps Isaiah 65:17).
