1. Jude 1:15 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What does it mean that all the ungodly will be convicted?

Jude 1:15 (ESV)

15 to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

Ungodliness is the opposite of being righteous and practising justice. In his quotation from 1 Enoch, Jude is making the point that these heretics will be judged by Jesus Christ. He will punish them for their immorality.
