The commandments of God appear burdensome to unbelievers. When we are in Christ, born of God, then his commandment ceases to be a burden and instead becomes a joy and a delight. We rather delight to do God’s will. “Seeking and hungering after righteousness becomes our joy.”1 Instead of heaviness, these commands of God bring us the freedom we long for so much.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
