1. Revelation 6:10 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why do the souls address the Lord as “Sovereign Lord, holy and true”?

Revelation 6:10 (ESV)

10 They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

This is how the Lord has revealed himself repeatedly. Christ Jesus has taken the scroll from God’s hand, indicating his sovereignty. Concerning his identity as holy and true, see Revelation 3:7.
