What does John 1:14 reveal about what God the Son does in my place and on my behalf?
God the Son took on flesh in order to become the only mediator of God’s people (1 Timothy 2:5–6). As a true and righteous man he can pay the penalty for human sin. Being fully God he can bear the burden of God’s wrath without being destroyed.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
