Who is the Word?

John 1:14 (ESV)

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Word refers to the Second Person of the Trinity, identified in John 1:1–5. This person is fully God and yet at the same time distinct from the Father.
