The creatures of heaven declare that Christ shall reign over God’s fallen and restored world forever and ever.
Time is a creation of God, with God himself enthroned above time. Forever and ever
speaks then not only of duration but also of Christ’s supremacy over time. No effort to dethrone Jesus Christ anywhere or any time in God’s cosmos will ever be successful (and John will receive detail of attempts in Revelation 12:1–17).
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”
