1. Amos 4:13 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the purpose of this end of Amos's speech?

Amos 4:13 (ESV)

13 For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name!

The final verse brings Amos’ judgment speech to a climax with a glorious portrait of the Judge about to appear before them in splendour. Creation, revelation, and judgment are the main activities ascribed to the Lord.1
