What is the purpose of all the questions in verses 3 to 6?

3 “Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?

Each of the questions that he asks argues from an observed result to an assumed cause. The purpose of the questions is to set up a series of no answers that ultimately support the conclusion found in verses 7 and 8: the Lord has sent Amos to speak to Israel.
