Amos 8:1–14 (ESV)

1 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: behold, a basket of summer fruit.

Amos is given a final vision of judgment. God’s patience with Israel has been exhausted and destruction is certain; it cannot be stopped. In the judgment oracle that follows the vision, Israel is given the details about why judgment is coming and what judgment will look like.
