What is the pride of Jacob?

Amos 8:7 (ESV)

7 The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob: “Surely I will never forget any of their deeds.

The pride of Jacob could refer to sin that leads to death, a persistent refusal to listen to God which turns into an inability to hear his voice.1 Alternatively, similar to Psalm 47:4, Jacob’s pride could refer to the entire land of Israel in which case the Lord swears by Israel’s most precious possession, his great gift to them.2
