Proverbs 20:29 (ESV)

29 The glory of young men is their strength, but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.

In the world people often speak of a “generation gap,” indicating the misunderstandings and fights that occur between people of different age groups. But in God’s wisdom, a grandfather and a grandson are not each other’s opponents, but each other’s supporters. The younger has strength, the older has wisdom. The wisdom of this proverb should promote peace in our relationships and should make us thankful for the joys that come with every new phase of life.
