Ezra 3 and the Trinity

Ezra 3:1–13 (ESV)

1 When the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the towns, the people gathered as one man to Jerusalem.

What does Ezra 3 reveal about what God the Son did in my place and on my behalf?

God the Son is the one who demonstrated God’s love for me by dying on my behalf to pay for my sins even when I was an enemy of God and wanted nothing to do with him. He loved God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength on my behalf. He bore God’s wrath against my sin in my place. In doing this, God the Son showed us how the Lord forgives sin and shows compassion to sinners while at the same time punishing sin. If God did not punish sin, he would be evil and not good.
