Who were these singers?

Ezra 2:41 (ESV)

41 The singers: the sons of Asaph, 128.

Singers are referred to as descendants of Asaph, the choir director appointed by David when the ark of the covenant was installed in Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 16:1, 1 Chronicles 16:5).1 These singers probably led the people in learning the psalms they sung at the temple and during festivals.
