1. Ezra 9:6–15 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

From which parts of Scripture is Ezra quoting in his prayer?

Ezra 9:6–15 (ESV)

6 saying:“O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has mounted up to the heavens.

Ezra’s prayer refers to the prophets (Ezra 9:11) and seems to be taken primarily from Deuteronomy 7:1–26. Moses was considered a prophet (Deuteronomy 18:15–19).
