1. Ezra 8:13 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is implied by the reference to "those who came later"?

Ezra 8:13 (ESV)

13 Of the sons of Adonikam, those who came later, their names being Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, and with them 60 men.

This phrase implies that these men followed earlier members of the family who came with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:13).1 This phrase could also mean that the final members of this family had now returned to Jerusalem.2
