Where was Tyre?

Psalm 87:4 (ESV)

4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush “This one was born there,” they say.

Tyre was a powerful trading city north of Israel, along the Mediterranean coast. In prophetic literature, Tyre’s prosperity and military security became synonymous with arrogance and self-sufficiency (Isaiah 26:1–21; Ezekiel 23:1 – 24:27).
