Commentary on Proverbs 16:3 (Summary)

Proverbs 16:3 (ESV)

3 Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

As Psalm 127:1–5 confirms, it is the Lord who determines whether our work will lead to something or not. Proverbs 10:22 also reminds us: “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow to it” (or Trouble adds nothing to it). Therefore, as this proverb literally says, it is best to “roll your works onto the Lord.”
