1. Judges 2:22 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Where else in Scripture is the verb “test” used?

Judges 2:22 (ESV)

22 in order to test Israel by them, whether they will take care to walk in the way of the LORD as their fathers did, or not.”

This word appears also in Genesis 22:1, where the Lord tests Abraham with the sacrifice of his son, Isaac. The outcomes, however, will stand in stark contrast to each other. Abraham was faithful; Israel was not.
