The verse progresses from recounting the plundering to which Israel was subjected to their powerlessness to resist it. The consequences of his anger are terrible. Israel was given over, “plundered,” “sold,” harmed, and “in terrible distress” (Judges 2:15).
14 So the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he gave them over to plunderers, who plundered them. And he sold them into the hand of their surrounding enemies, so that they could no longer withstand their enemies.
