Commentary on Esther 9:17 (Summary)

Esther 9:17 (ESV)

17 This was on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, and on the fourteenth day they rested and made that a day of feasting and gladness.

Again, it is emphasized that the Jews rested. Haman (and his astrologers) had marked out the thirteenth as the day of the Jews’ annihilation. Yet, only one day later, the Jews could be found feasting in the streets!
