Naaman wants to give his life to the LORD. He asks for some soil, to create a piece of Israel at his house, so he can bring his offerings to the God of Israel. He discovers that it is not by “do ut des” (“I give you a present and you (my god) will give me your blessing”), but by grace!
17 Then Naaman said, “If not, please let there be given to your servant two mule loads of earth, for from now on your servant will not offer burnt offering or sacrifice to any god but the LORD.
