Commentary on Esther 7:1 (Summary)

Esther 7:1 (ESV)

1 So the king and Haman went in to feast with Queen Esther.

With this second banquet, the story reaches its climax. Finally Esther would reveal her ancestry to the king and plead for her people. Little did Haman realize that this banquet, which he had so looked forward to (Esther 5:12), would bring the downfall that his wife and friends had predicted (Esther 6:13).
