Had Haman arrived a few minutes earlier, or had the king fallen asleep before his attendant reached the entry on Bigthana and Teresh, Mordecai’s fate would have been sealed. However, the reader is again invited to marvel at the providence of God. To the living God, a few minutes are time enough to save the humble and cast down the proud (Psalm 18:27).
