Esther 6:4 (ESV)

4 And the king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king’s palace to speak to the king about having Mordecai hanged on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

The king judged it necessary to rectify the gross omission mentioned in Esther 6:3, and to do it as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, a new morning had arrived. Haman was standing in the outer court, eager to speak to the king about the plans that he had for Mordecai. Little did he know that his early arrival would make him the executor of the king’s plans!
