1. Matthew 13:51–52 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

In what sense is a scribe trained for the kingdom like a master of a house?

Matthew 13:51–52 (ESV)

51 “Have you understood all these things?” They said to him, “Yes.”

A true scribe of the kingdom is like a householder—a man who has authority over his household and who can make use of, and distribute, both old and new things as he sees fit. In the same way, the apostles can deal with the mysteries of the kingdom of God from both the old and new covenants.1
