Laying a matter before God in prayer does not absolve a person from further responsibility. God has made his people coworkers in his world (Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 2:15). Consistent with that responsibility, the people continued their work on the wall. Like two pedals on a bike, Christians pray and work.
6 So we built the wall. And all the wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.
