1. Jeremiah 48:42 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why will Moab no longer be a people?

Jeremiah 48:42 (ESV)

42 Moab shall be destroyed and be no longer a people, because he magnified himself against the LORD.

Moab shall be destroyed and be no longer a people, because he magnified himself against the Lord. Once again Moab’s arrogance towards the Lord is identified as the reason for the Lord’s judgment (see Jeremiah 48:26–27). No doubt, this arrogance was seen most clearly in the way that Moab treated the Lord’s people.
